I babysit children with challenges such as ADHD, PTSD, and Bipolar disorder, and really enjoy working with this population. I find it especially rewarding to work with children who have above average intelligence, but need a little extra guidance and patience to complete tasks.

My strength is in math and science, but as a sociology major with a 3.87 GPA, I have had to tackle writing as well. In English, my strengths are in vocabulary, comprehension, and reading, but my spelling is nothing to write home about. I scored a 720 on the math portion of my SAT, and a 700 on the verbal portion. I have been working with elementary school aged children for 9 years, and teens since 2002, but not always in a tutoring capacity. My mother is a middle school math teacher, and I have learned some excellent study skills and teaching techniques from her.

I am also willing to work with high school and college students, although at this level I can only tutor algebra, statistics, geometry, and sociology, as well as working on study skills.

Hobbies:

I am a 22 year old senior at UT and have just started my undergraduate thesis. Since coming to UT I have been Peer Educator for University Health Services, as well as a Peer Theater Performer for Voices Against Violence, a healthy relationship education
