ExperienceIn high school, I was in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, where I met once a week with my "little". Through this program I gained extensive experience in elementary school workloads and expectations. Additionally, throughout high school I tutored at a local elementary school, helping students with their homework assignments.
My college experience and degree gave me a strong Liberal Arts background, which I can apply to tutoring in writing, reading, history, geography, and social sciences at any academic/schooling level.
My interest in tutoring stems from my love of people. Whether it's meeting people, speaking with them, or reviewing European history for an upcoming AP test, it's enjoyable for me. Also, few things beat that feeling of knowing you've helped someone realize their own academic and personal potential.
HobbiesWhat I'm most interested in is cities. Give me something written by Jane Jacobs and I'm set for (at least) an afternoon. I love to read about planning and development news, look at maps of roads and infrastructure on Google Earth, and spend a day exploring new streets I've never seen before. Really, cities are my passion.
I'm also a huge fan of seeing movies at the Alamo Drafthouse, riding my bike around town, and drinking milkshakes. Oh, and planning my next great adventure of course.
