Travis S.

Private tutor in Austin, TX

Education

I received my B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas in 2011 and my Master's Degree in Orbital Mechanics in 2013. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D in Computational Science, Engineering, and Mathematics. My research interests include modeling vulnerable plaques and patient-specific modeling of arterial diseases.

Experience

My name is Travis and I am a graduate student in Computational Science, Engineering and Math at UT Austin. As an undergraduate engineering student, I performed very well in all my physics, calculus, differential equations, and statistics courses. As a tutor, I embrace the challenge of meeting each new student where they are and taking them to the next level of understanding. I am most comfortable tutoring mathematics, but I can tutor physics and computer programming as well. I am excited to start working with you! My hourly rate is typically $40. ----------------------------------------------------------- Experience: I was an undergraduate tutor at the engineering study tables in Calculus, Physics I and II, and Differential Equations. Also, I've been a teaching assistant in the Aerospace Engineering department at UT for 3 semesters. For the past year I have tutored 6-8 hours per week. ----------------------------------------------------------- Relevant scores: 800 SAT math 800 GRE math 3.88/4.0 GPA in Aerospace Engineering ----------------------------------------------------------- What to expect: Expect a dedicated tutor who will ensure your success in whatever subject you're trying to conquer. In addition, I see each tutoring session as an opportunity to not only improve knowledge of the particular subject at hand but also to improve study habits, enhance independent learning skills, and mitigate test anxieties. By doing so, my students gain self-confidence they can carry with them to other academic disciplines. Expect me to ask you for some problems and/or topics you would like to cover before each tutoring session. This allows me to prepare for each meeting appropriately so that our time together is as cost-effective and productive for the student as possible. -----------------------------------------------------------
