Nick J.
Private tutor in Austin, TX
Education
I am currently a Mechanical Engineering major at the University of Texas at Austin. I will be graduating in the Fall of 2013.
Experience
I am very interested in becoming a math tutor and I love the idea working with kids on their mathematical adventures. I am a patient 30 year old who is great with kids. Before pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I spent years working with new employees at Collings guitars, training them to create some of the most beautiful guitars in the world. If you are unfamiliar with the company, please feel free to check out their website, www.collingsguitars.com. My time instructing at Collings Guitars provided me with the skills necessary to effectively communicate information in a calm and inviting manor. I am well versed in basic math, algebra, pre-calculus, calculus, and trigonometry. In addition, I have experience with basic high school and applied physics. The math skills I gained at the University of Texas and Austin Community College are more then enough to help your child achieve their goals in the subject.

Hobbies
I have been playing guitar for about 15 years, and in a former life I built guitars for Collings Guitars. This envolved fine woodworking, management skills, and new employee training. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about people and the world. I still love playing guitar and talking about music of any type. Recently, my interest in disc golf has resurfaced. Its a great excuse to be outside and enjoy the beautiful weather we have been having in Austin. I am also very into photography. I take a lot of live music photos, in addition to architecture and abstract composition stuff.
