EducationB.S. Degree Zoology, University of Oklahoma. As a student, I specialized in physiological ecology and natural history. I have done extensive field research cataloging flora and fauna of Oklahoma and have assisted with physiological studies of exercise.
As a teacher of science, I believe that students can learn how to be more effective in learning about science, they will be more prepared for the higher level thinking and study skills required in college.
ExperienceMy Specialties include coaching students in AP Biology and AP Environmental Science; I have been a "Reader" for the Environmental Science exam for 8 years and specialize in teaching test-taking strategies & reviewing for AP Exams.
I also assist students with Science Fair Projects and the Texas STAAR End-of-Course Science exams for grades 5, 8 & 9.

Hobbies*I enjoy being outdoors and I have great interest in the natural history of Texas! I recently achieved certification as a Texas Master Naturalist and enjoy sharing my love for environmental education with children and adults. I also read a lot! Steam punk, science fiction & historical novels are my favorite genres. I also enjoy kayaking & hiking in hill country, birding. I also love old movies, especially mysteries, sci-fi and film noir. In the winter, I enjoy playing board games, sewing and cooking.
