Experience

Learning and reinforcing material from class in one-on-one or smaller group settings can be extremely beneficial to any student, especially a student who may be struggling with math. We'll work together through homework assignments, test reviews, and class notes to ensure you are fully grasping and understanding the material so you'll be able to apply it later, on your own. I encourage questions throughout my tutoring sessions to make sure students are truly learning. I will make sure to explain a concept in different ways until a student can really comprehend the subject. With math, it is crucial to understand foundational material, since the entire semester will continue building on top of what you have already learned. I have been tutoring math for middle school, high school, and college students in various subjects for 5 years. Students have seen C average grades turn into A's after a few sessions working with me. In both high school and college, I was elected to serve on the Honor Council enforcing academic integrity both inside and outside the classroom. Copying my answers is not the best way to learn. I will work through material with students to ensure their understanding.

Hobbies

I love going to see live music, running, and spending time with friends and family. I am the second oldest of seven kids and have spent years helping younger siblings with math homework. I was a member of the Chi Omega sorority at the University of Virginia. I love setting goals and working hard to accomplish them. Some of my latest are: running a marathon (Chicago, October 2014) and learning how to solve a Rubik's cube (New Year's Resolution, January 2013).
