Experience
I received my bachelor's degree in California, and moved to Austin shortly after. I grew up with two professors as parents, so I developed a passion for teaching and learning at a young age. Languages fascinate me, so I enjoy teaching English and Spanish, essay writing, and literature. What I like most about languages, literature, and history is the humanity aspect -- there is so much to be learned about adventure and passion in these exciting subjects. I have experience teaching children as young as five up through college-aged students. I'm patient and a good listener, two qualities that are crucial to the success of any teaching/learning relationship. I have an interdisciplinary style of teaching, so, when relevant, I like to incorporate multiple learning tools into my lessons. For instance, if we are studying Spanish, we might listen to Spanish music or watch a Spanish film. Or, if we are studying history, then I would likely incorporate travel, culture, or food into a lesson. I believe this type of hands-on learning is highly effective. When not tutoring, I can be found nurturing my new acting career in plays, films, and commercials. In my free time, I enjoy going to plays, listening to music, writing songs, watching films, and playing classical guitar.
