Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Biology at Washington University. While in college, I spent some time in a study abroad program where I traveled to rural India and taught high schoolers how to use computers. This is the experience that I credit with sparking my interest in teaching. Following college, I earned a teaching certification from the state of Texas and spent some time in San Antonio teaching Biology in a high school and helping students prepare for standardized tests like the ACT and SAT. While there, my students earned some of the highest scores in the entire district on the STAAR Biology exam. I try to be as engaging as possible when I teach and also attribute much of my success to my willingness to take extra time with any student who needs it until they are able to master the concepts at hand. I am currently working towards two different master's degree in the field of Social Work and Public Health at the University of Texas. I was born in Austin, where I have now returned to. In my free time, I enjoy doing yoga, getting out to local food joints and concerts, and watching Longhorn football.
