Experience
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Arts in Communication from St. Edward's University and then received my Master of Arts in Human Service and Public Administration. Along with my unique educational background I have had a very diverse personal life,; living in multiple countries and traveling to as many new places as I am able to. This has given me an appreciation for cultural diversity that I believe strengthens my skills as a tutor greatly. I have taught in many different areas but specialize in Reading, Math, and Language Arts. I very much enjoy taking these subjects that strike many as complex and difficult, and finding a way to break them down to fundamental basics that suddenly make the entire process seem simple and fun. I teach with a special blend of tough standards and strong positive support. I believe in my system of holding my students to high standards and teaching them to do the same for themselves, but at the same time celebrating success and always feeling as though their efforts are being rewarded and appreciated. My approach has proven successful with adults and children alike as we all have a desire to set high goals, put forward our best effort, and enjoy the success that follows.
