Experience

I love to learn, and I love to share what I know with others. I was always very inquisitive, and I read a lot as a child. I went to Davidson College for my bachelor's degree in English and Spanish literature. I then earned my masters degree in education and taught for five years in Oakland. I enjoy tutoring students in kindergarten through high school senior writing and reading topics, along with elementary and middle school math. I also speak Spanish, and I can help students improve their skills with language. When I work with a student, I identify their strengths and build on them from there. I work with a student to form a team to help them develop skills in a better understanding of the subjects we study. Ultimately, I want to help students realize their full academic potential, and I enjoy enlisting the student's family to assist in that. When I have free time, I like to cook, read, listen to music, and backpack. I also enjoy art.
