Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from the University of Delaware, with a focus on development in Africa. I have visited many countries, including China, Brazil, Western Europe, and other nations. I enjoyed studying history and literature and did extremely well in math thanks to the great teachers and tutors who assisted me. They truly helped me progress to where I am at the present time. I want to help students in the same manner as my teachers and tutors helped me. My tutoring experience includes tutoring primary and middle school students in an after-school programs. I feel that identifying a student's strong and weak areas of understanding is the key to learning success. I also feel that creating a close bond with a student I tutor is sure to help them learn more, because they will trust me and not be afraid to make mistakes when we work on new material. I am certified to teach ESL and I also have certifications in CPR and First Aid. When I am not tutoring, I am employed as a lifeguard. In my free time, I like to swim, run, and read.
