I recently finished researching and writing a book on UFOs--decades in the making. It's now published, and on Amazon and Barnes and Noble web sites. It is: FORCE FIELDS: Alien Visitations To A Planet Living In The Dark. I'm a freelance writer, and a retired personal trainer, and a hypnotherapist, and I've had decades of effective and transformational one-on-one experiences with a diverse clientele, coast to coast. My B.A. in Psychology led me into an interest in hypnosis, and I've been a certified hypnotherapist since 1991. My skills in this realm mean that I am able to convey to the student the ability to focus on the proper techniques in their writing, as much of hypnosis is an exercise in selective, focused thinking. Two of my favorite concepts in hypnosis are: meet the client where they are; and engage in a technique called Utilization. What this translates into in a session: every student already has some positive skill sets. These are identified, and enhanced, and utilized. Other, similar positive skill sets (specifically, in grammar, usage, syntax, and structuring essay and research papers) are introduced. My years of experience as a hypnotherapist will therefore come into play in an efficacious manner in each tutoring session. I see my background and experiences as being a natural fit to the tutorial process, offering the student a highly effective, results-producing program.

As a former personal trainer, I'm addicted to working out, 5-6 days a week at Gold's Gym locations in Austin, TX. I love a huge variety of rec-sports (swimming, tennis, kayaking, kickboxing, ad infinitum). A fit body and mind go together. As a former trainer, there's not a single type of person I've not worked with before--all ages, all nationalities, from every conceivable background and every life path. My background as a published author (FORCE FIELDS: Alien Visitations To A Planet Living In The Dark) translates naturally into: I have an advanced command of the English language, particularly grammar, usage and syntax. High school students struggling with mastering expository writing, particularly essays and research papers, are my natural target audience for tutoring. There is an art to writing essays, and I'll be able to convey to the student that it can be done, it's not as difficult as it may seem. Adherence to a very basic set of simple rules, combined with each individual's innate sense of creative expression (and everybody does have this, their unique voice) result in effective and powerful expository writing. I'm very easygoing and patient, and possess a great sense of humor, and these character traits carry over into my tutoring sessions.
