Experience

I can tutor many different subjects, but I base my tutoring style on music lessons. I've taught and been a student of guitar, and during lessons I listen intently to the way that students play. I'm not interested in finding the mistakes, because students already know about those. Instead, I listen for what it is the student is trying to accomplish, and then identify their strengths and areas of opportunity so that I can help them get there. These same principles can be utilized in tutoring any subject. I'm comfortable tutoring algebra, geometry, elementary school math, middle school math, English, pre-calculus, literature, social studies, business, biology, reading, writing, essays, English grammar, American history, economics, psychology, geography, and others, and I can help students prepare for the ACT, SAT, GRE, and other standardized exams. When I have spare time I enjoy playing guitar, listening to classical music, running, boxing, history, cooking, and literature.
