I am a genuine, caring educator who knows the value of students fully understanding their basic courses in order to grasp the concepts they will experience in the more advanced classes. When I was a student, I struggled with both Math and Reading, but was afraid to ask questions during my classes and embarrassed to request help from a tutor. When my grades began to fall, I realized that I would have to push past feeling any fear and shame and speak up when I had any questions. Once I began asking for explanations or for something to be stated in a different manner, my comprehension in my courses soared. My goal is to be the instructor that makes it easy for students to feel confident in asking questions or asking for additional time to fully master a concept before moving the lesson on. I have tutored for different community service organizations and nonprofits in my area with children of all ages. My specialties are Algebra 1, Geometry, Statistics, Trigonometry, Algebra 2, Writing, Essay Editing, College Essays, Pre-Algebra, Math, English, Psychology, and Social Sciences. Besides academics, I spend my time outdoors whenever possible. I run the Hike and Bike trail each Sunday, and I am always scouting out new running trails and parks. I love reading and drawing, too.
