As a motivated undergrad at the University of Texas at Austin, I am in the midst of studies toward majors in chemistry and philosophy. Part of that arduous journey includes current tutoring roles in several subject areas, with mathematics, writing, and standardized test preparation being my focus and strengths. I enjoy applying tailored teaching methods in presentation of material, including real world comparisons and spatial examples to help students better understand complex scenarios. I am learning through my own studies, and stress this to my students, that it is often easier and more efficient to establish thorough comprehension of a subject with comparisons to the tangible. All students learn and process at different speeds and I believe a focused teaching approach is key to a student's academic success. I encourage students to break down problems and work through them step by step to make even difficult challenges manageable. I take the time to discover a student's learning approach and help them apply that skill to learning and succeeding. Outside of current tutoring schedules, I keep a typical college student routine, spending time with friends and enjoying the city. I like writing, music, dance, different forms of art, and great food.
