Experience
The Spanish language fascinates me, and I want to pass my passion for Spanish on to my students. I have studied this great romance language for 17 years, and have taught it for 14 of those years. I began learning Spanish at the age of 12. Next semester, I will teach Spanish 1 as a graduate student to undergraduates at Texas State University.I speak Spanish with near-complete fluency, and that has led me to working with students of all types, from younger students to college classmates who need a little extra help. My classmates, even in graduate school, often ask me for advice and help with the language, and I'm always happy to help. I also enjoy tutoring students preparing to take standardized tests, especially for the GRE. I have taken both the old and new versions of the GRE. Study skills are very important, whether my student is working on learning Spanish or is a recent college graduate seeking entrance into grad school. When I'm not helping others learn my favorite language, I enjoy traveling, both internationally and just around my new hometown of Austin, Texas. I am also part of two world percussion ensembles.
