Experience
I grew up in northwestern Pennsylvania and attended Allegheny College, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in English/Creative Writing, and a minor in Women's Studies. After college, I relocated to New York City, and completed my master's degree in Poetry at the New School. While working on my degree, I worked as an assistant in publishing, gaining experience working with literary agents and an author. At the present time, I work as an assistant editor and provide support to the executive applied sciences editor. I have spent some time judging the scholastic writing awards, and rating poetry and short stories submitted by middle and high school students. My tutoring experience includes teaching math and English to middle school students with Champion Learning. I also worked as a volunteer/intern at Poets House in Tribeca. I have a passion for creative arts and learning, and teaching reading, writing, and how to communicate. I am available to tutor a number of courses, including essay editing, phonics, literature, grammar and mechanics, college essays, and English.
