Hi! My name is Joe. I'm currently working as a Software engineer in downtown Austin, and in the past 6 years, I've enjoyed working with kids and teenagers to hone in their skills with Math and computer science. I'm a graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science with the University of California, Irvine in 2014.
Experience
As the older brother of 3 siblings, sister as a freshman at UCLA, another sister as a 6th grader, and a brother in 4rd grade, I've learned to be patient with kids of all different ages and also teach them what is necessary in their curriculum. I love working with kids, and seeing their progress in school. I've also had the opportunity to tutor some of my siblings' peers, as my own siblings have recommended me to their friends. In high school, I was hired as an assistant coach for my swim team to help develop our younger team between the grades of 6th-8th. This experience helped to strengthen my capacity in dealing with kids of different ages and different backgrounds to teach them discipline and help them to achieve a goal, while having fun with them. Although tutoring math is my preference, I also have strengths in subjects such as Java, Physics, and general K-8 education. I received a 770 out of 800 on my Math subject test and scored a 5 out of 5 on the AP Calculus AB exam as a Junior in high school. I also completed multivariable Calculus as a senior in high school, putting me ahead of many students in math when I came to college.

Hobbies
As I have mentioned before, I am the oldest of 4 children. I love working with kids and spending time with my siblings. My passions outside of academia are swimming and basketball. I was a serious athlete in high school, pursuing swimming on the high school team for Varsity 4 years and playing club basketball.
