Alysia C.
Private tutor in Austin, TX
Education
Grad Student Anthropology major at the University of Texas-Austin
Experience
My SAT score was 1300 and I received a test score of 4 on both my AP English and AP Spanish examinations. During my senior year of undergraduate study, I worked as a peer tutor. After graduation, I taught Beginning and Intermediate Spanish Language at a local high school for three years. I received my M.S. degree from Georgetown University, where I also volunteered at a local Boys&Girls Club helping children after-school with their homework assignments. Now, as a graduate student, I work as a teaching assistant in the Anthropology Department. Outside of teaching undergraduate students in my Inroduction to Social Anthropology course, I am finishing my Ph.D. coursework this semester. Although the majority of my work focuses explicitly on social anthropology, I am also taking courses in education (theory and ethnographic practice) as this complements my research focus.
