Private tutor in Austin, TX

Education

B.S. Biology, Chemistry Minor from Southwestern University in Georgetown Texas (2011) Graduated #1 in my college class with a 3.98 GPA.

Experience

-7 years of tutoring experience in General Chemistry -5 years of tutoring experience in Organic Chemistry, Biology, and Algebra -Most tutoring students raise their class averages by 1-2 letter grades under my direction -Attained a Perfect Score (100th percentile in the country) on the National ACS Standardized Organic Chemistry Test - Scored in the 100th Percentile on ACS General Chemistry and Biochemistry National Standardized Tests -Scored in the 94th Percentile on the MCAT Hands down, I'm the best Chemistry and Biology tutor in the business. At the #2 University in Texas behind the famed Rice University, I distinguished myself as the top Pre-med student in my class during my 4 years at Southwestern University. I took the MCAT and was ready to apply for medical school, but decided ultimately that I didn't want to be a doctor. Instead, I started pursuing the calling I've had ever since I was a kid- Acting. However, I learned how to simplify and condense the information that teachers and professors breeze over in class, and have made a living as a private tutor since graduating college. My students have tremendous success, and I am looking to expand my business. As a student, you are looking for someone relatable and who also knows their stuff. I'm your guy. I streamline the boring and confusing information that my students don't have the time or energy (or teacher!) to make sense of, and can provide practice problems, practice tests, and study materials that other tutors can't. Allow me to help you get back on track.

Hobbies

I'm weird. Weird in the sense that I "threw away" a nearly perfect GPA and a great MCAT score to pursue an Acting Career full-time. I didn't become a doctor because I understand the utmost value of personal drive, and although I was extremely successful as a Pre-Med student I was not personally driven in the least to continue as a Medical School student. I was however, driven by getting extremely good grades, and found the techniques necessary to get A+'s in the hardest classes most colleges have to offer (including Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry). This is what separates me from most tutors- I'm here to get your students points on their assignments and pique their interests in the process. We all become most interested in our endeavors when we experience high levels of competence in what we do, and the same holds for students. Many of my students are unyieldingly driven to pursue careers in medicine, but struggle in the classes required to get them there. My passion as a tutor stems from giving my students the tools necessary to bring them to their goals.
