I have a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis on ecology, evolution and animal behavior from the University of Texas in Austin. My graduating GPA was 3.84.
Experience
My tutoring experience is working with children ages 6-18 in a group home where many of the children were special needs and required extra attention. During my education at UT I also frequently assisted my classmates in their studies, though not in a professional setting. Education is a valuable asset in life encouraging growth, awareness, appreciation and higher paying jobs. Unfortunately, it does not come easily for all people. Tutoring is an opportunity to help someone in a very real way. My hope is to be able to relieve some of the frustration of learning so that education can again be fun. I have my B.S. in biology and have therefore taken many sciences and math classes, from basic biology, chemistry and physics to more specific classes such as cell biology, genetics, calculus, statistics and so on. During the process of getting a degree I also took basic writing and cultural components and could help accordingly in those subjects. My SAT scores have long faded from my memory for I took the test back in 2004. However, they were no obstacle for me to enter any college of my choice and I know I did better in math and science.

Hobbies
Almost anything outdoors interests me. From camping and farming to bird watching and picking wild flowers, the natural world holds my curiosity and sense of adventure. In addition to that dominating interest I love to read novels and poetry, write in my journal, watch movies and cook.
