I earned my master's in Creative Writing from Texas State University-San Marcos, and am currently studying for an English PhD at Davidson College, where I teach and tutor writing courses. I specialize in Medieval and Renaissance British Literature. I am also very adept at assisting students with Advanced Placement English and standardized test preparation. I have worked extensively with students with developmental or educational needs and also tutored nonnative students. I am steeped in the world of early British literature, writings from various other cultures, and poetry. I excel and helping students glean the most from their creative abilities from younger grade levels to graduate and post-grad, and am a devout believer in all of my students. I maintain a dedication to unveiling every student's inner voice and helping them all to do that in their own ways, building on their confidence and urging them to reach beyond the comfortable. In addition to being a voracious reader, I enjoy the nuances of other languages, music and musical instruments, sci-fi movies, mythology, and yoga. I am a big fan of being outdoors, too, especially hiking and backpacking, as well as traveling around the world.
