Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Journalism with minors in Dance and Peace Studies from Loyola University in Chicago. Currently, I am working toward my master's degree at the University of Texas at Austin's School of Journalism. I have served as a T.A. during my graduate studies and have also worked with the School of Undergraduate Studies at UT. This experience helped me to earn my teaching certificate in First-Year Interdisciplinary Instruction. I also served as a tutor at Loyola and have extensive elementary school substitute teaching experience. I'm able to tutor a wide range of ages and subjects, including reading, writing, literature, American and world history, sociology, and social studies. I'm also available to assist students in AP English Literature and Composition, AP English Language and Composition, and AP United States History--the subjects I'm most enthusiastic about tutoring. I believe writing well is an essential foundational element to every student's success, and I love helping my students find their love of the written word. I am well-versed in tailoring my teaching techniques to each student's preferred learning style, and I enjoy helping my students engage with and invest in the work they do. When I'm not tutoring, I enjoy ballet, Pilates, running, reading, cooking, and traveling.
