Experience
I began my academic pursuits by earning an associate's degree in Paralegal Studies at Lakeland Community College. I then worked as a paralegal responsible for supervising the legal research and writing department of a public law practice. During that time, I earned my bachelor's degree in Sociology at Cleveland State University and my J.D. at Cleveland Marshall College of Law. For several years following, I worked as an advocate and mentor to juvenile court clients. Here, I learned about the difficulties many of my clients experienced in school. Many of my clients were special needs students, which inspired me to learn more about the specific legal issues involved. When I went into private practice, I returned to school to obtain my master's degree in Special Education from Cleveland State University to ensure I was qualified to represent special needs students and their parents. Since then, I have continued to tutor and teach students from elementary schoolers to high schoolers in subjects like reading, writing, math, government, and English. I am a strong believer in the idea that a love of reading and writing can unlock a passion for learning, and I aim to share my love of the written word with each of my students. In my free time, I like to spend time reading, gardening, and shopping.
