I believe that reading, and enjoying it, and writing effectively are key to leading a fulfilling and successful life. Whatever a student's goals or interests, they can be furthered through strong English skills. I enjoy helping students learn to read as well as helping advanced students develop reading comprehension skills. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring in reading, creative writing and test preparation as well as working with gifted students. I am committed to tailoring my tutoring to each student's needs and helping my students enjoy learning. I tutor students in all manner of English-related subject areas as well as test preparation.I completed my undergraduate work at Emerson College in Boston Massachusetts, where I studied writing, literature, and publishing. I then went on to earn a master's degree from Texas A&M University in education, focusing on reading and language arts instruction. I am now located in Austin, Texas where I teach creative writing workshops for elementary school students. In my free time I enjoy Pilates, cooking, traveling, reading, and writing.
