Hello, my name is Katherine. I currently hold a Bachelors degree in Zoology and Conservation Biology and a Masters in Biology Education, both from Auburn University. While studying, I had the incredible opportunity to travel with a team to Mexico and Ecuador to gather data. In Mexico, we took a further look into the ecology of the area; while in Ecuador, we spent time researching carnivores. These trips only fueled my passion for the sciences, and I knew that I wanted to share my love with others. Recently, I spent time teaching Life Science to 7th graders at Smiths Station Junior High in Smiths Station, Alabama. Those three years in front of the class are regarded as some of the best moments in my life. Besides teaching, I also spent countless after school hours assisting students with tutoring in the science fields. Tutoring is extremely important to me. Everyone has the ability to learn something new and to grow academically. Each student has a different style of learning, whether it be visual, hands on, or auditory. This is something I take into account when teaching, and prepare my tutoring sessions based on the needs of each student. Together, we can both work our way to a great session.
