EducationBaylor University - BA, Language and Linguistics
ExperienceOne of the best choices I have made so far in my life was to travel to China and teach English. During that time, I not only traveled and explored, but learned about myself and teaching in general. My tutoring experience began when I was studying at Baylor University. I focused on helping students with math, Arabic, and French. It was after graduating with a Language and Linguistics degree with a math minor that I traveled to China and stayed there for a year as an English teacher. Since returning to the United States, I continued teaching and tutoring. My areas of expertise are in English, social studies, languages (French and Arabic), sciences (Physics and Chemistry), ESL, and math. My favorite is Math, which I have always loved. I find myself describing math as simply beautiful. When I tutor, I work to help each student individually, which often helps encourage confidence in the student and his or her understanding of the subject discussed at the tutoring session. I also like to create an environment where the student can ask any question and know they will have help in finding the answer. It is this trust in the relationship that makes learning successful. I also like all aspects of music, reading, spending time with family, and watching soccer games.
