Casey B.

Private tutor in Austin, TX

Education

M.A. in Professional Counseling, Texas State University (in progress) M.S. in Sociology, University of Amsterdam (3.9 GPA) B.S. in Accounting, Pepperdine University (3.9 GPA)

Experience

I began tutoring in 2001 during my undergrad at Pepperdine. I worked for IvyWest, a branch of Sylvan Learning that focused mainly on SAT prep. I specialized in SAT-Math and received consistently high performance evaluations. I learned several tips and tricks for mastering this portion of the exam, and continue to teach them today to my students. After 4 years with the company, I branched off into private academic and SAT tutoring, where I focused on Arithmetic, Applied Arithmetic, Algebra, and Geometry. Because math curriculum is built linearly, one bad experience/teacher impacts everything that comes after. My job is to find that weak link, strengthen it, then move forward, building confidence along the way. My rate is $40/hour.
