Experience

Having received the highest possible honors for both my MA and my BA, I am qualified to tutor particularly for writing, english, and organization. In particular, my BA in English (creative writing) involved several types of research, consistent use of standard writing styles (Chicago Style & MLA, for instance), and, over time, I developed an organizational pattern for writing focused papers and essays. I have also held several professional positions in which writing and organization were necessary skills. For example, as a film reviewer, I regularly analyze and craft arguments about film style and technique. Also, as a Jr. Acct. Executive for Midas Public Relations in London, I crafted press releases, carefully choosing the best phrasing to sell a particular product or event to the press. With these qualifications, among others, I am hoping to instruct students in the craft, from creative writing to academic research. My focus in teaching is always on the students, developing their skills in areas of weakness and expanding their skills in areas of strength. Hobbies

Passionate about creative writing, I have written short stories, poetry, and screenplays. Separate to writing, I also love sports, particularly tennis, and the outdoors. I am very close with my family and have very recently become an aunt for the first time. Finally, I am an avid traveller. Although I am a native of Austin, I recently spent two years living in London, in part to complete my MA and in part to work. I have also been to Australia, Germany, Portugal, Spain, France, Honduras, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.
