Experience
I have tutored undergraduate and graduate students in Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine Arabic for three years. I am a kind and patient tutor, and my enthusiasm for the Arabic language and Middle Eastern studies in general is infectious! I was educated in Britain (MA Hons Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies, University of St Andrews) and have lived in Egypt, Turkey, Jordan, and Palestine in addition to having traveled throughout the Middle East. My year in Egypt (2011-2012) was spent at the American University of Cairo, where I studied Arabic-English translation and modern Middle Eastern history. I completed my MSc in Advanced Arabic at the University of Edinburgh in August, where I was trained as an Arabic-English translator and interpreter. Recent translation projects include working for a BAFTA-award winning documentary director on a film documenting the lives of Syrian women and children in Arsal Camp, Bekaa Valley, Lebanon.

Hobbies
I am currently applying to PhD programs in the US and Britain. In my free time I enjoy reading contemporary Arabic fiction, studying Turkish and Farsi, and dreaming about one day traveling to Yemen.
