In high school, I took two summer courses ('06 and '07) and a fall semester course ('07) specifically designed to teach strategies and test taking tips that will improve students' scores on standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. Volunteering at my church, waiting tables, and participating in tutoring programs like Reading Together USA have taught me how to work with all kinds of people and personality types. My experience has also taught me that in order to be an effective teacher, one must also be a good listener to better teach to specific needs.
