ExperienceAlthough not a teacher per se, I have helped my friends and siblings with their homework for years. I've always been told I had a talent for teaching. Many concepts come naturally to me and it is easy for me to explain things others might find hard. I work one on one with students and try to give them a holistic experience by offering my academic skills and by building a relationship. My method enables me to teach my own patterns of thinking that have aided my success. I teach how to fish, rather than be given one, allowing students to thrive.Science and math are my best subjects, but I can teach any subject including algebra, chemistry, geography, history, English, public speaking, and Mandarin Chinese, at the high school level. I can teach elementary math as well while am able to also provide essential test prep help for the SAT. Born in Singapore, I spent my childhood in Houston, Texas. I have a bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and am pursing the same field for my master's degree. When not studying or tutoring, I enjoy cooking, reading, and writing when I have the time.
