Hi, I've been tutoring for about 5 years now, and have helped a lot of students from high school through graduate school with courses in math, physical sciences, and engineering. I've also helped students prepare for the ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE (my SAT scores: 780/800 verbal, 800/800 math; GRE: 760/800 verbal, 800/800 math, 800/800 analytical). If I can't help with your course, I can probably refer you to a tutor who can. I help students become independent problem-solvers. Ideally this means that the student will not remain dependent on a tutor (not even me!) for very long. Of course this process takes place while tackling the student's homework or exam problems. Tutoring rates vary depending on subject and travel time. More about me: I studied chemical engineering at Berkeley and Northwestern, and worked as an engineer in the semiconductor industry in Silicon Valley and as a mathematical researcher at a trading firm in Chicago. In the last few years I've been interested in sustainable rural development, assisting on projects in Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala. I recently received a Fulbright fellowship to do some research on Stirling engines, which can generate electricity from heat.
