Experience
2 years experience as a tutor I love teaching; I am working on a teaching certification program. Tutoring is a great way to gain experience, I love working one-on-one with other students. I won't write anything for a student though; I do all I can to make sure they understand something. My previous tutoring gig had an unofficial motto that I love: "You will always spend more time trying to get someone to do an assignment for you than just doing it yourself." As a freelance editor, I have worked with fellow professors on academic pieces (albeit mainly proofreading and formatting, but great way to learn how to properly write for school and work). I also spent a lot of time with the community college writing center creating, editing, and distributing helpful handouts for students and the community. I am very experienced with online tutoring. Contrary to the times detailed within my profile, feel free to message me for any kind of question or written assignment at any time, I will get back to you within 48 hours. The exception is midterms in March/October or finals in May/December, at which the turn over time is 72 hours. I charge $5 per double-spaced page, (or per 500 words) which does not and will not apply to in-person sessions or communication via phone or video chat. This kind of tutoring is ideal for students that need MINOR explanations or pointers for their assignments. If the student is having difficulty understanding something, has a hard time writing, or is a Non-native English speaker or writer, in-person or video chat sessions are HIGHLY recommended over emailing for any tutor you choose.
