Education

Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT); SB (BS) in Aerospace Engineering with concentration in Engineering Management. Graduated 02/2015

Experience

I have been tutoring for almost 10 years, on-and-off, working with family, friends, and underclassmen as I’ve progressed through my education. In high-school, my tutoring experience included holding lecture and tutoring sessions for Chemistry and AP Chemistry. Currently, I don’t have my test scores anymore seeing as I took those tests well before finishing my degree. If I remember correctly, I scored consistently in the 98-99% percentiles. That said, I feel my degree and institute more than validate my credibility in standardized test taking. I am a great tutor because I am patient, sociable, friendly, and can relate well to others. Furthermore, I am well educated in sciences and engineering, having developed a deep understanding about math and all the sciences – including their deep interconnected natures. Thus, I can approach a teaching topic from multiple angles to ensure maximum absorption and retention in the client. I have extensive practice working on teams and with people, as well as extensive formal leadership and management training, and so know how to work with people and produce results. Additionally, I also see this as a way to practice my teaching skills for my younger brothers as they get older, and so will really seek to grow and learn from my tutoring experiences, ensuring that I perfect my methods and produce lasting results with everyone I teach. Some relevant courses: Experimental Projects - Aeronautics, Space Systems Engineering, Propulsion Systems, Aerodynamics, Astrodynamics, Electronic Energy - Motors to Lasers, Materials and Structures, Manufacturing with Advanced Composite Materials, Management in Engineering, System Dynamics, Optimization Methods in Management Science Activities I did in college include the MIT Rocket Team 2010-2011, built a 32 ft Catamaran of all-composite material structure, did senior Capstone coursework in both Experimental Aeronautical Engineering and Space Systems Engineering, and have performed materials testing research on 3D- printed aerospace titanium-alloy.

Hobbies

A bit about myself: I am hard working, eat healthy, live an active lifestyle, and am generally a positive person all around. I like to encourage others to succeed, and also try to help discover an appreciation in education and knowledge for knowledge sake – which, when it comes down to it is the best thing someone can learn in the lifetime, as it fosters the characteristics of a lifelong self-learner. Additionally, I also see this as a way to practice my teaching skills for my younger brothers as they get older, and so will really seek to grow and learn from my tutoring experiences, ensuring that I perfect my methods and produce lasting results with everyone I teach.
