Private tutor in Austin, TX
Education
I graduated with High Honors from the Plan II Honors Program at the University of Texas in Austin and with high honors from Highland Park High School in Dallas, Texas, before that. I wrote a feature screenplay for my senior thesis in Plan II and am a produced screenwriter and published magazine editor.
Experience
I have tutoring experience from when I lived in Beverly Hills, California, and I found the experience to be rewarding for myself and the students on a personal and academic level. I have a background in psychology as well so my ability to empathize with challenges or frustrations some kids may be facing and desire to identify problems and then solve them comes in handy.

Hobbies
First off, I am a really fun and loving person. I am great with people of all ages, and I appreciate the different stages of life and their distinct challenges. Growing up, my mom worked full-time, and my dad was the one who picked me up from school. He was a college professor, and as an English PhD, he got me on the path of correct grammar and syntax from a young age. I never resented studying because I had naturally disciplined study habits, my parents never pressured me to make perfect grades, and I had a balanced after-school schedule, with plenty of time for re-charging between soccer, dance, and piano lessons. I always had lots of friends, most of whom did not struggle in school, but some did. I watched the anxiety that only increased the closer it got to test, report card, and eventually college application time. I believe we ALL have gifts and aptitudes to excel in different subjects. Some of those subjects will not be found until college and sometimes decades later, but in the meantime, while a set curriculum of subjects is on the table, why not make the education process as painless as possible? I say painless because if you study in a disciplined yet balanced manner, any student can be proud of his or herself. And isn't that what we all need to be successful in life? Proud of ourselves, knowing we've done our best? School is a privilege and should be neither a miserable experience nor one that's taken for granted.
