I am a tutor who is experienced teaching writing and English. I can work with students on their writing, reading, literature, and English. If a student needs help editing an essay or needs someone to look over their college essay, I can help. I attended the University of Illinois Chicago where I received my master's in Applied Linguistics and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have been teaching English as a second language, along with teaching writing courses, for over five years now. I can work with students of all ages and skill levels. I believe that any student can succeed if they are provided with the proper guidance and resources. As a tutor I work to give my students the study and organization skills that will help them achieve their academic goals. I want my students to be confident in their abilities as learners and writers. While it's important to figure out what areas a student is struggling with, I also believe it's beneficial to learn what a student's strengths are. I work to foster an environment in which my students can engage and feel comfortable interacting with me. When I'm not tutoring I enjoy writing and reading books. I also often organize creative events and programs.
