Hobbies

Having excelled academically in high school and seeing others not as successful, I want to share some of my knowledge with others who also have the potential to succeed, given a little push. As a top student in school, people often come to me with questions. Seeing others slowly grasping ideas and concepts at school under my guidance gives me a sense of satisfaction, encouraging me now to reach out to the broader community. I have no previous experience of tutoring except informally at my high school but hope to make up for it with my enthusiasm, patience, and a reflection in my hourly fee. However, I do think one advantage I have is that just having graduated out of high school, it will be be easier for me to connect with the student and identify difficulties that I had just encountered in my studies a few years ago. This is especially true for standardized tests, so I also offer tutoring to those preparing for the ACT (qualifications: 36 in all 4 areas). The content I teach will focus on the needs of the individual student through finding his/her strengths and weaknesses. I will also try to make sure my teaching methodology fits the student that I am teaching, and not any prescribed course. This is reflected in my own studies, in which I study certain subjects myself, and eventually take the corresponding exams that I have self-studied for instead of following any set school curriculum (14 AP scores scored 5 out of 17). I want to fully satisfy the need of students and parents and therefore any lesson that is in any way unsatisfactory will not be charged. My hours are rather flexible though limited to daytime from 6 am to 9 pm. The tutoring location can be of the student's choosing within a reasonable range. I look forward to hearing from and helping you be successful in your studies!
