I attended Ithaca College, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in music education. Upon graduating, I began working for a nonprofit organization, where I tutored, mentored, and acted as a role model. It was my responsibility to work closely alongside students, getting to know their strengths and weaknesses, so that I was able to develop customized curriculum to better suit their needs.Along with helping students overcome their academic deficiencies, I helped prepare them for success in the professional world as well. I firmly believe in investing time and effort into each of my students, so that I am able to understand how they learn, and teach in a manner that is comfortable to them.It is important for teachers to understand that students learn differently, so what may work on one student might not work on another. Moreover, individuals learn at different paces, so the teacher needs to know the proper time to introduce new content. I believe that having a better understanding of one's students promotes an optimal educational environment.I like to make my students feel comfortable, and I do this through patience and understanding. I am a motivated teacher who tries to creatively approach new subjects. Along with music, I am able to tutor reading, Italian, and mathematics.
