Experience
I have worked in a variety of settings with children: I was an au pair in Germany, a babysitter in high school, and in college I tutored a professor's daughter in 3rd grade math. I've also lead art classes with children. I have worked as a tutor to students in college, primarily in writing and editing. I was also a teacher's assistant in an introductory poetry workshop. Everyone learns differently - and that's what makes teaching and tutoring so fun for me. It isn't about the material, but about how you make it interesting or relevant to the student. This is what I want to provide for any student I have - a respect for their own specific learning process.
