Private tutor in Austin, TX
Vassar College - Bachelors, Computer Science
Although teachers in classroom settings work very hard, some students aren't suited to this system of learning. Tutors like myself are in a great position to connect with students and allow them to experience their full potential as a learner when those involved approach it with a fresh mindset. I am a recent graduate of Vassar College, where earned my bachelor's degree in Computer Science with minors in Math and Art History. I was actively involved with the Vassar College Computer Science department, serving as both a tutor and a lab coach for numerous years as the academic intern for the department. In addition to helping students with lab assignments, homework, and preparation for tests, I held recitation courses and review sessions for a wide range of computer science courses. Along with computer science, my specialty is teaching high school and middle school students the concepts of mathematics and writing. I am also an experienced standardized test-taker, and can pass on the various strategies I have formed over the years to students studying for the SAT, GRE, SSAT, and PSAT. Along with specific academic skills, I can equip my students with a vast array of study habits and organizational skills that will no doubt prove useful throughout the rest of their educational journey.
