I am a native speaker, as, although born in the US, I was raised and educated in Italy, from primary school through High School and first-year university coursework. I have resumed my college studies for some time now in the US - I am an English major, and being involved daily within an academic setting, I understand the value of qualified tutoring services to students who aim to achieve proficiency in their university studies.
Experience
My background allows me to provide a dual approach to tutoring in Italian. While, on one level, I am aware of what is required to obtain satisfactory grades in foreign language exams, on another I am able to explain to prospective students the practical realities of the Italian language, thereby offering to the student a comprehensive approach to its study: academics, along with the applied, everyday vernacular. My ability as a tutor in the Italian language is the result of my cultural formation: I have lived and worked in Italy. I go often for extended periods. For those who intend to succeed in Italian, and not only from the standpoint of college exams, my potential services may be something to consider. I can be available to anyone who has either a desire or a practical need to work on his or her own Italian: from those who want to learn in order to travel and enrich themselves, to young students and upcoming professionals who intend to work on their skills with a view to pursue successful occupations, whatever they may be.
