Experience
As a teacher and tutor, I try to remain approachable and communicate clearly. My ultimate goal is for each student to reach his or her full potential. I think it is vital to work with parents and students to find the student's motivators and learn about their personalities. I use many different research-based teaching methods to develop lesson plans tailored to a student's personal interests to help them learn.I earned a bachelor's degree with a dual major in Spanish and Public Relations at Radford University in Virginia. I moved to Austin, Texas, after graduation and have lived here about 10 years. I am currently a paraprofessional at an Austin middle school. Every day, I interact with students who have diverse backgrounds, a variety of behavioral needs, and different learning styles. I have a reputation as a teacher who is creative with lessons and can get maximum results with limited resources. I am able to tutor Algebra, Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, Math, Spanish, Special Education, Middle School Math, Homework Support, Study Skills, and Study Skills/Organization.Outside of academics, I am a published amateur photographer and I love to cook.
