One of my main beliefs is that every child can succeed with the correct materials and information. As a tutor, I also believe it is my duty to provide my students with all the materials and information that they need to succeed. Teachers are often stretched thin, with so many classes to teach and pupils in each class. That is where I come in. I take the time with each person to work on their individual needs and goals. When I was a high school student, I struggled with math, which made me struggle with my self-esteem. I had my own tutors and amazing teachers who helped me succeed and now I want to do the same. Another thing I believe is that sometimes you need to repeat the same information in multiple different ways until it "clicks" with the student. I use multiple methods of teaching since each student learns differently. Currently, I am attending Smith College, earning my degree in Education and Child Studies and Theatre. I have been a tutor for numerous years. I have worked with students of all ages and abilities. I have worked with people who have learning disabilities to people considered profoundly gifted. Every student is worth the effort, no matter who they are. I truly enjoy sharing my love of learning with everyone. I am available to tutor many subjects, including English, social studies, and math.
