Zachary N.
Private tutor in Austin, TX
Education
I received my B.F.A Design at the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2013 with a cumulative GPA of 3.74 (out of 4). I furthered my education, and proficiency teaching EFL, by receiving my CELTA at the University of Cambridge in 2015.
Experience
I completed the highly regarded CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) which is an intensive, 120 hour course wherein I studied effective language teaching methodologies. I put those practices into use during 6 hours of assessed teaching practice where I was commended on my ability and attitude. I realized I was a natural at guiding and teaching students and it has, since then, been my passion.

Hobbies
I enjoy woodworking. I have built several pieces of furniture in the past, but I don't have as much time to dedicate to this hobby as I would like. A dream of mine is to build my own home in the future, when I am ready to settle down. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures firsthand. Becoming an teacher of the English language has certainly allowed me to do this more than most people are able. I am a huge moviegoer and film buff. I enjoy having conversations about mine and other people's favorite movies, their favorite directors, etc. I was never much for competitive or team sports, but I do like cycling -- it's a great way to stay fit and explore the city! I also really enjoy playing pool (billards) and have been for several years.
