Experience

I attended Southwestern University for my bachelor's degree in education. I have six years of experience teaching science and math in the public school environment. I've also been tutoring since I was a high school student, assisting students individually and in groups. As a tutor, my specialties are algebra, middle school math, and SAT math preparation. Of these, algebra is my favorite because it builds on top of itself in a cumulative fashion, so concepts you learn on the first day are used throughout the rest of the course. I believe that success in math is based on the student's mastery of the concepts and their ability to apply that knowledge, and it gets easier with practice. If you put in the effort and have a solid understanding of the concepts, math gets a lot more fun and starts to resemble games. When I have free time, I like to read, do yoga, swim, craft, go on hikes, and spend time with my dog.
