Experience

I attended Texas A&M University, where I graduated with my BS in Biochemistry. Most of my tutoring experience is with science and math subjects at a high school or college level. I have also successfully helped students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, and MCAT, among others. My main tutoring focus has been in math and science, but I have also had success tutoring students in reading. When I was in high school, I successfully passed 14 AP classes. This has been an advantage for my tutoring career, as I know the difficulties students in AP face, and have overcome the challenge myself, so I know techniques and tips for how to get through AP classes. I've also learned to focus my tutoring on a student's needs. If they are having difficulty with a concept, I am able to adjust my teaching methods until we find the right fit that makes the subject come alive for the student. I believe that tutoring works best when a student is motivated to work with their tutor, and willing to put in the work. I help motivate my students to not only succeed, but excel in their classes. In my free time, I like cooking and playing ultimate Frisbee.
