I attended the University of Iowa where I completed a Bachelor of Arts in History, English Literature, and Russian Language Studies. I later attended the University of Texas at Austin where I earned a PhD in Modern European History. I've taught many different college History courses in large classrooms and lectures, and have also taught students one-to-one for private tutoring. Besides tutoring specific courses, I feel it's important for all students to develop critical thinking skills and strong writing skills, as those areas are important for nearly every career. I have experience living overseas and a passion for learning languages. I have lived in England, Russia, and Latvia, and I can speak Russian, Latvian, and Polish.
