Experience
I attended Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where I earned my B.A. in Latin American Studies. Soon, I will further my studies and work toward a graduate degree in Public Policy. My educational experience has partially driven my teaching strategy, and, as such, I place importance on individualized attention and working with small groups. I was an interventionist at a high school with a small group, and I made sure to tailor lesson plans to every student's needs. I also worked with each student independently outside of school, which helped me to learn more about each student. This experience taught me how important it is to learn about each student individually, and provide unique learning experiences for each. I attended an International Baccalaureate high school, so I have a close familiarity with the way those programs function, and I am very comfortable tutoring students preparing for IB-oriented exams and essays. I've tutored English (Writing, Literature, Reading), as well as United State History, European History, Global History, and United States Government and Politics. I'm also able to teach Spanish (from introductory to Advanced Placement). I try to build students' interest in the subject matter I teach. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, pop culture analysis, and watching TV (especially shows about the supernatural).
